Information on competency required
to attend Adobe Captivate course

We have received queries regarding whether teachers with "average" ICT skills would be competent to attend this course.  The answer is a definite YES.  At first look Captivate may seem intimidating (because its interface is different from the Microsoft Office interface we're all familiar with).   But Adobe have done a good job of making Captivate intuitive, easy-to-learn and easy-to-use once you are familiar with its basic concepts.  If a teacher's ICT skill levels allow them to create something useful in Microsoft PowerPoint THEY WILL BE ABLE TO CREATE USEFUL RESOURCES USING ADOBE CAPTIVATE.

Previous Teacher feedback

Pedacomp is one of a very select group of organisations which the NSW Institute of Teachers has endorsed specifically as a provider of ICT-related professional development for teachers. Our courses are amongst the most effective Technology-in-Teaching training workshops in Australia.  When our Captivate workshop ran in term 3 of 2010, 500 teachers attended, providing outstanding feedback:

  • "As with each of your three courses I have attended the Captivate course was invaluable.  Please continue to provide the booklets to attendees. It is such a gift to be able to go home and look up the bits I've forgotten how to do", Lin Eccleston, Molong Central School
  • "The course was extremely interesting and challenging. Many courses I have attended over the years have been interesting but not challenging. I look forward to doing more of your courses",  Jennifer Newell, Killara High School
  • "A very well-paced and informative course", Sue Austin, Rous Public School
  • "An excellent course!", Valencia Minerva, Nepean High School
  • "A very well-managed course.  The extra trainers provide support for the slower ones, and workbook and extra support give faster learners the option to go ahead on their own", Erin Bradshaw, Wallsend South Public School
